Install StealthPin for iPhone

StealthPin isn't on the App Store. Apple doesn't allow apps that use the iPhone's developer settings, which is how StealthPin changes the location. So you install it yourself, the same way people install other apps Apple won't list. It's free and takes about ten minutes.

You need an iPhone on iOS 18 or later.

Sideload it

  1. Install SideStore. It's a free app that installs other apps using your own Apple ID. It needs a computer once to set itself up; the guide at sidestore.io walks through it. AltStore and Sideloadly work too.
  2. Get LocalDevVPN. It's free on the App Store. A copy of StealthPin signed with your own Apple ID can't carry a VPN of its own, so it uses LocalDevVPN to reach the iPhone's developer tools. Like StealthPin's own, it sends nothing off the phone.
  3. Download StealthPin on the iPhone and open it in SideStore: in SideStore, go to My Apps, tap +, and pick the file.
  4. Turn on Developer Mode. Once StealthPin is installed, the switch is in Settings › Privacy & Security › Developer Mode. Turn it on, restart, and confirm. The Developer Mode guide has pictures.
  5. Open StealthPin and follow its setup. It pairs with the iPhone (on iOS 27 you type a code in Settings; on iOS 18 to 26 the Mac app sends a pairing file across once), then asks you to turn LocalDevVPN on.

Apps installed with a free Apple ID stop opening after seven days unless they're refreshed. SideStore refreshes StealthPin for you; open SideStore every few days to make sure it has.

Join the beta

Beta builds carry StealthPin's own VPN, so you can skip LocalDevVPN, and they don't need refreshing every week. The catch is that they only install on iPhones registered for the beta, so you have to ask first.

  1. Find your iPhone's UDID. It's the iPhone's long serial number. With a Mac, plug the iPhone in, select it in Finder's sidebar, and click the line under its name until it shows UDID; right-click to copy it. Without a Mac, open udid.tech in Safari on the iPhone. The profile it installs only reads the UDID, and you can delete it afterwards in Settings › General › VPN & Device Management.
  2. Email it to hello@stealthpin.com with your iOS version. The button below starts the email for you.
  3. Wait for the link. Once your iPhone is added to a build, you get a link back. Open it on the iPhone and tap Install, then carry on from Developer Mode above.

The UDID is only used to add your iPhone to the beta. Places are limited, so it can take a few days.
